Step it Up Project

Our Step it Up Project aims to educate the general public on how to talk to someone who is in mental health crisis and feeling suicidal.

Our hope is that through education and information suicides can be prevented. We want people to be comfortable in approaching others and asking the most important questions: ‘Are you ok?’ and ‘Are you thinking of suicide?’ By opening a dialogue with someone who is considering suicide and being able to provide understanding and support to get some professional help can save a life.

Our leaflet has been distributed to 4000 addresses in the Derry/Londonderry area to provide members of the public with some guidance on how to help a friend or loved one who may find themselves considering suicide. We continue to promote our Step it up message in every aspect of our work. We firmly believe that education and awareness are the way forward to preventing suicides.

Please feel free to download a copy of our brochure and share with others. If one life is saved with this information then all our efforts will be worth it!
